I won't judge 'em. Wanting to make money through writing is legit. It's just that I dislike blogs where over 50% of the posts are paid posts (and poorly written to boot).... and I tend to stay away from them. I'll only visit those types of sites only for a few bloggers. i.e. if you started barfing up paid posts all over your lovely site, yeah... I sold a few links on my sidebar to pay for high speed Internet... so that I wouldn't have to do PPP posts ever again. Yech. I'm pretty sure that lowered my PR (why it remains at 4). According to my pal (who plays with SEO Google strategies), I should've had a PR of 6 based on the number of backlinks I have, however... since I'm generous with giving out free dofollow links (and linking to what Google terms "bad neighbourhoods"), I remain at 4... and possibly... because of my links generosity... I myself may be tagged a bad neighborhood in the process. Oh well. You try to be nice... and Google gives ya shit. :P It's called allowing "blog links spam". In the end, my opinion is... drop the dofollow plugin if you really care about PR, but really... don't worry so much about PR on your HOME PAGE. Most SEO experts say it's more important if your actual posts (the PR on those posts) are ranking high (being found in search engines) via "keywords". There are lots of plugins that help you with SEO. Anyway... when you think about it... good blog content is king. Plus developing strong communication with your readers (blog hopping/commenting) is key. And having fun with blogging? :) Passion... we (bloggers) need to put that back into blogging and not worry about PR and popularity. If we do, it will show in the quality of our entries... which will then attract more readers... and possibly, well... backlinks will result... and then higher PR? It's a circle, eh? Since... considering my DNS screwup, you've been rather patient, which makes me happy. :) And I do have to say that hosting so many people could *not* be easy. Emailing everyone was work in itself, and I even started a list with who I contacted and their responses. With a colour code.
