Bad Behavior Blocked Mari

In this mini-issue of Stoopid Saturday, we have a quick look at web site owner stupidity. As in, problems caused by Mari that affect Mari

As far as Mari knows, she is NOT an automated spambot. So, Mari was shocked and angry when she received this message while editing an email address out of a URL field (BECKY!, lol) about 20 minutes ago:

Oh, yeah?! Take this, Bad Behavior. *deactivate*

Honestly, Mari hopes that this was a plugin error or that her IP was only blacklisted by ACCIDENT. If not, whoever blacklisted Mari, Mari’s gonna find you, and make you eat all the nasty things sitting in the back of her fridge. Mari hopes you like crusty, black, rotten hot sausage

XD

Just now Mari actually looked at the site, and Mari’s running an old version of the plugin. Mari will update later today, but still, Mari hates being labeled a spambot.

Remember to update your WordPress plugins, everybody!

Mari should probably also update her WordPress installs as well. Hehe….whoops!

Wow being labeled as a spambot on your own site, not fun at all.

Wowee….crackers. That must really make you boil to be labelled a spambot by your OWN site! O_O

Damn, I did it again! Delete my other comment please, for some reason I’ve got my email address on default in the website box =/ sorry lol

    Ooops, sorry XD
Lmao at being labeled a spambot though! That must have confused you a bit :P

Yeah it did totally make Mari mad. Mari was lucky she thought to check the plugin page before she went a-ranting. LOL

    @Becky

LOL Mari totally understands. Mari had to figure out how to clear her Firefox autofill stuff one time when she had her surname in the URL field.

It’s also neat to see that Mari’s not the only domain-owning-blogger that takes advantage of autofill fields when commenting. They’re so handy!

FINALLY Mari know’s where you’re from! *goes back in to your old comments and adds your URL* Mari would feel bad if she didn’t give you some link love and some return comments. You’ve been such a nice commenter. =D

I was just reading another blog where Bad Behavior had blocked the author too. I’m always afraid of using plugins like that in the event that something acts up. I figure, as long as Akismet can block the spam, I’m not too concerned with visiting bots.

    Hi Mari,

The issue has been fixed with version 2.0.11 recently. Details and download can be found here:

I, too… got blocked out of my own site last week! My blog thinks I’m SPAM! YAY! I’m the essence of malicious and illegal activity, yay!

Yeah, I deactivated it… last week. I just tried the updated plugin and I can login now!

Ah, potential blog post title again… “When Bad Behavior is Behaving Badly”.
