Earnings for Charity - Part One

Remember how Mari pledged to donate any money she makes this month1 2 to the Susan G. Komen charity?

Well, here is how Mari is doing as of Saturday:

Screen capture of Mari's PayPerPost post list for the month. Shows four sponsored posts with monetary values totalling 45.50

As of 6 October, Mari has made $45.50. Woohoo! Mari is only $55.50 away from her set goal of $100 for her bills before she starts donating!

1 Any amount exceeding 100 dollars. Mari has bills to pay, and $100 is just enough to keep the collection agency from knocking at Mari’s door. Now, in case you think this is greedy, Mari will have you know that Mari’s website income (PayPerPost, Text Link Ads) is Mari’s only source of income. As in, Mari will live on only 100 dollars this month, and it will all be going to bills. No money for luxuries or buying health-conscious food choices. Mari will be mooching food off her parents, and they eat the greasiest, fattiest, cholesterol-est, sugariest food you’ve ever seen.
2 Excluding any money Mari makes on 15 October. That’s Blog Action Day! Any money Mari makes that day will go to an environmental charity of Mari’s choice. Hooray for saving the environment!

    i’m all in for this whole donation to various charities and what not.. but why do you write your blog entries in ‘third’ person?

  • Kiera on

    It’s great that you’re going to try to raise money for a good cause and you’re not too far off from reaching your goal. Good luck!

  • Kaz on

    Oh I hope you reach your goal! It’s for such a great cause as well. I remember when I did a sponsored silence for charity, it’s so much fun. Good luck!

    I kind of want to do PPP. Except, I would never put PPP posts on Ink Spot. I don’t have anything against people who do put it on their blog (I understand that Mari needs money!), but I wouldn’t personally do it. It kind of “ruins the atmosphere” in a way.

    Maybe I could make a separate blog to use PPP with. I’ve seen people do that for some extra cash.

    P.S. You might want to increase the line-height of your (not single) entry headers, because the hover effect overlaps the date a little bit for longer titles. At least on lower resolutions like mine.

    Hey, I think that’s a very admirable cause Mari and you’re not far away from it either. Congratulations!

    I also want to know what or rather who is your desktop. ^_^

  • Melissa on

    Wow, that’s a good amount of PPP money - I’ve only made $100 so far and I’ve been doing it for a few months. Probably because I don’t post PPP entries that often.

    Good luck Mari, I hope you hit the $100 mark soon so that you can start donating money to the Susan G. Komen charity as it’s such a good cause.

    Hahah. Sorry about the fonts. I think it looks ugly if the font is any bigger than it is. XD

    and I actually loved WP, but the way I had to make pages and couldn’t save them to my computer made me frustrated, which is why I swithced to Cutenews. Lulz.

    @Vanessa

    Well, there is an explanation on the “About” page. Mari thought that was pretty self-explanatory. You know, the idea of looking around a site before leaving a one-line comment that seems to tell the author they’re an idiot for doing what they want on their site.

    Then again, this is the Internet, and Mari’s no mind-reader, so Mari may be way off on what you’re thinking. Emotional connotations get lost in this medium. Though, Mari must admit, the “quoting” made it seem like you meant it in a derogatory manner.

    If Mari seems a little ticked off, and it is actually for no reason, Mari apologizes. Mari would like to note that Mari’s had too many comments that ask that same question when it’s more than possible to read and find the answer.

    @Kaz

    What exactly is a sponsored silence for charity?

  • Mari on

    @Josh

    Yeah, it does. And Mari hates to do it here, but you know…money. If Mari can ever get hired, even by McDonalds, Mari will instantly cease the PPP stuff.

    …except McDonalds literally won’t hire Mari. *sigh* Oh, well.

    @Joana

    Koda Kumi! From her Ai no Uta single. It was a wallpaper available from her website for a short time after the single’s release on 12 September this year.

  • Mari on

    @Melissa

    Mari hasn’t made much either. Only 220 so far. But Mari needs to really make an effort so she can both pay her bills and give to charity.

    Oh, how Mari wishes you had read the Commenting Policy…

    Actually, you can save them to your computer. It’s called a WordPress Export file…

Please take care to read the Commenting Policy before you comment. FAILURE TO DO SO and subsequent violation of will make you look like an idiot. And I'll point it out and laugh so hard I cry.
