Internet Fighting
No Kung-Fu required. For your third lesson in Internet Stoopidity, we will observe the dynamics of Internet Fighting. You need know no kung fu, but you may need a profanity filter.
Our first example of the classic Internet Fight is to be found on Digg. Mari searched all day, and finally found a suitable internet fight.
Digg article: The Never Ending War on Christians
If you have extra time, read the article, but what we’re focusing on is the comments. Notice how the comments immediately veer from “Christians are being led to believe they’re being attacked by political leaders” to “OMGFZ XTIANS ARE SO STOOPIDS!” That is the beginning of every stoopid Internet Fight. Someone either chooses not to read, or misinterprets something.
Internet Fights are only funny when the topic can be taken lightly. Articles with topics such as the aforementioned don’t make for very funny Internet fights. Unless you find humor in just laughing at the people you disagree with.
Mari remembers one such fight found on a site Mari regularly visits.
Before visiting, please note, the article Maria posted on her site is sarcastic. Read: NOT SERIOUS. It is making fun of how the author thinks the things it says are wrong.
Boscardin.org post: Overreacting
In this Internet Fight, people didn’t read, and it led to them looking like complete and total jackasses. (Of the braying variety. Four legs and a tail.)
In general, Internet fighting makes you look stupid. Or crazy, if you decide to go burn the guy’s house down. Try not to fight on the Internet. It really doesn’t solve anything. You can’t change someone’s mind on the Internet any more than you can change your parents.
If you must fight on the Internet, please try to be more level-headed than anyone else in the fight. Think things through. Use facts. Stay in the middle, rather than going to an extreme. At least people won’t think you’re a moron.

Emz read the issue about Maria’s post and couldn’t believe all the hoo-hah that people had over it… stoopid teenyboppers.
Gah Digg. Emz thinks Digg needs to be dugg into a really deep hole and left to rot with the stupid males that fight on it.
It’s always manly-bits that cause the problems!
From the digg comments:
“Wow.. what a shock Hatefilled narrow minded bigotry from the diggtards. who would have thunk it. The stupidity in mass that is digg is terrifying.”
Agreed!
@Emz
Indeed. Absolutely ridiculous was it not?
It is those darn manly-bits causing the problems on Digg.
*nods* Exactly.

Hm, I remember this bit of drama going on at Maria’s blog but I didn’t realize that it continued further with some guy creating a petition. Puhlease, like a petition is going to make Maria change her site.
And the board drama, that was kind of funny now that I look back at it.
@Joana
Exactly.
Board drama is like Digg comments. Stoopid.
