Scared of Santa?

As a child, were you scared of Santa? When Mom and Dad took you to the mall to get pictures, did you scream like a banshee?

I remember being shy and sometimes I wouldn’t want to go up to Santa at first, but I wasn’t as scared as these kids. Via BoingBoing, I found this link to a whole gallery of pictures of kids that are just terrified of Santa. Some of them are so hilarous. Go check it out!

I think my favorite is the eighteenth one in the set. That poor little girl looks like she’s crying a river.

    I wish commentators would read my site policies page. *edits out “Despair” from your comment*

    Anyway, yeah, the pictures are just hilarious. I showed my Mom and she said, “I was just lucky you were only shy around Santa…” And then she busted out the photo albums, heh.

    I bet the people in those pictures are now mad at their Moms for showing everyone their pictures with Santa, too…

    Haha, those pictures are hilarious! xD But I can understand why the kid freaked out in the 5th picture; that Santa IS scary!

    Yeah, some of the Santas terrify me. Scary looking dudes!

    I don’t think I ever cried but I don’t remember going to see Santa as an enjoyable thing. I was always scared of strangers, and still am.

    I love Santa now and would probably hop on his lap if I couldget away with it. I didn’t like going to see Santa though because I KNEW he wasn’t real, despite what my mum said about the guy in the suit being ’santa’s little helper’.

    I was scared of Santa one time. It was a year after I had seen multiple other santas in stores and the Easter bunny, but this one santa at a local grocery store made me cry and I didn’t want to go up to him. You’re right, some of those pictures are hilarious, though I do feel kind of bad.

    @Deanna

    I don’t think it was ever a positive experience for me either.

    @Amber

    Haha, same here. My Mum never fed me the bull about it being his helper though. I just knew it was fake and she was cool with it as long as she got some cheap polaroids of me with Santa.

    @Rach

    Yeah, it’s like laughing when a puppy runs headfirst into a door. You know they can’t help it, and it’s kinda sad, but still funny and cute even though you feel a little guilty for thinking so.

    Hello :) You have nice layout :D Very neat.

    Those pics are hilarious! The Santa on the fifth pic is kinda scary.. No wonder the poor girl cried. :P

    I was never afraid of Santa, maybe because I was born on Christmas Day itself! lol.

    Aaahahahhaahha at this link, shame on YOU! (It’s great) My favorite so far is the second one. Ahahah she looks like she’s 3 seconds from running in the wind.

    @Vanessa

    Heh. But what if the Boogie Man and Santa were in the same room. I think the poor kids would be scared half to death.

    @Elle

    Oh, thank you! That’s so nice of you to say.

    Yeah, everyone seems to think that one is hideous and terrifying, haha!

    @Ammar

    Oh, that kinda stinks. My brother was born near Christmas, and I feel bad for him, because he always gets his Christmas presents lumped in with his birthday presents.

    @Stephanie

    I only remember getting my pictures taken with Santa when my Mom pulls them out to embarrass me.

    @Leslie

    Yeah, the poor kids. Everyone gets to have a chuckle at them, and now they’re old enough to really get mad at their Moms for posting them on the web.

    @Rora

    I think thei’re all really hilarious. Poor people having their kiddie pics all over the Internet.

    i see your point of view on what happens to my site but its not fair that the ’site owner’ has to share their work in order to tone the stealing down a bit. i should be able to have my site how i want it and if someone wants something- they can ask. and if I say no, thats within my right, you know? people do get too uppity, i try not to nitpick but when things are redundant i feel like ‘hey why cant i say something’ but its an on going thing & at the end, i have to let it go. all i can do is say wow this is lame- which is what i do. and then i have to move on. & no i dont view you as a stealer nor am i going to jump down your neck solely based on your opinion.

    take care ♥
