Hurry Up and Snow Already!
It’s currently a very strange time of year. It’s freezing cold outside, yet there is no snow falling or on the ground. The leaves have all turned an ugly mud hue, and the sun deceives you, pretending to be a sign of a fair, seasonably warm day, when in actuality, it’s colder when it’s sunnier.
It’s barely a few days past Thanksgiving, but I’m already sick of hearing about “Holiday Shopping”. It’s been going on for a month already. Soon the “Holiday Shopping Season” is going to start before October.
Simply ridiculous. If you can’t manage to purchase a Christmas, Chanukah, or Kwanzaa gift for someone within the 20 or so days of December before the actual holiday…
“Holiday Shopping” aside, I really wish it would snow soon. Something about frozen water droplets falling from the sky always makes me smile.
Come on, Weather.com, tell me there’s a blizzard coming!
(Bleh! More unseasonably warm days ahead…)
What do you think of this time of year?
Do you enjoy the “Holiday Shopping” season or not?
Do you like snow or detest it?
Tell me!

I never seen snow before, and I lived in NY. We moved till I was 5yrs. But don’t worry, hopefully your snow will come soon.
P.S. I have IE 7.0, and your layout is misaligned. Or maybe it’s just my browser. But I like the snow layout.
I love snow! But rarely get it where I live. I love the holiday season. I love the feeling that’s in the air. I love how the stores are decorated and I love buying gifts for the ones I love. But I hate when places are crowded and people won’t get out of my way.
PS. I have firefox and this layout works great!
I cant wait for snow! It’s my senior year, so if it snows we don’t have to make up any snow days. LET IT SNOOOOOOOWW! lol. There’s just something in the air at this time or year…the holidays just make people so jolly!
I love your layout! I wish I was as good at making wordpress layouts as you are! Snow you say? Yes, we have TONS in Washington. We usually only get like an inch, and it usually comes like in January, but since yesterday, it’s been falling like crazy. Yesterday we had like 3 inches and today we have like 4. And in some places 5! It’s a dream come true! I hope you get snow soon! I’m going to head over to take a look at your wordpress layouts now, haha…
@Yumi
Geez, that sucks. I don’t know what I’d do if I lived in a place with no snow.
Yeah. *loads her page in IE 7* It’s not misaligned in IE 7, actually. It just randomly loaded badly for you. The only problem in IE 7 is the difference between the background colors (for no reason, I might add…)
@Kathryn
Oh, gawsh, when it snows here in Western PA, I’ll send you a box of snow. Haha, I’d imagine it’d melt by the time it got to wherever you are, though.
Yeah, it ought to. I’m running Flock, a Firefox-based browser.
@Nessie
Haha, lucky! I’m cyberschooled, so the term ’snow day’ has no meaning for me anymore. Except that I get to go outside and fling snowballs at the poor kids waiting for the bus to a regular school. =P
@Risa
Oh, thanks! That’s so sweet of you to say.
Haha, mail me some snow! I miss it so badly!
Or maybe that massive snowstorm will make it’s way east intact! *crosses fingers*
Heh, I said the same thing just several days ago when I though it was never going to snow. But it did. Just wait, it’ll come. Now I’m freezing my butt off! lol. EEK! I hate holiday shopping! It’s so hard what to get everyone..
@Larriza
Haha, but waiting is so hard when you’re getting impatient!
There have been times where we were freezing our butts off here in October, but no snow still.
I just plain can’t stand shopping in the first place, and then when everyone is all crowded into stores because of sales…Ugh, holiday shopping is so annoying.
Its supossed to snow tomorrow and get real nasty out my direction tonight, I will send you some snow how about that
I like your layout by the way, Looks great.
Hey! I know what you are saying but I love the winter time. I dunno it must just be me. But it also has to do with my birthday is in the winter time. They are talking about snow here tonight but I doubt we will get anything and if we do it won’t stick cause we had a lot of warm days like up near the 70s but I guess its that strange midwest weather!
@nancy
Haha, thanks! And thanks again! Aren’t you nice?
@Kilanda
Yeah, that helps in fostering a fondness for a particular time of year, heh.
Well that stinks. It’s been real warm here too, so even if we were to get a blizzard right now, it would melt as soon as it hit the ground.
Snow! I have never been in a place while it’s snowing, but I love snow anyway.
Snow is nice. I can tolerate it, and it is pretty, but not after a few days when it starts to turn this brown color. lol. And BTW, remember… don’t eat the yellow snow. ;]
@Honey
Oh, geez, you’ve got to go see snow falling on vacation sometime! It’s so beautiful.
@Brandy
Yeah, when it turns into mud-slush it is pretty ugly. Especially on the side of the road. Eeeeww.
Haha!
We hardly ever get snow over here and when we do it doesn’t settle or isn’t worth having. As for me, I am a regular late shopper. I was out shopping on Christmas Eve last year with my father; a disaster (but not a beautiful one).
We have to deal with the Christmas shopping now - I refuse to stand in a line all December and planning the shopping with a 7 month old baby is pretty exhausting
I hope for snow soon too. The weather seems even colder without than with snow on the ground. Unfortunately here in Denmark the snow is taking such a long time at dissapearing again.
@Amber
Oh, geez, that sucks. Do so many people really not get that much snow? Stupid Global Warming…
Heh, I always end up having to go to the grocery store on or near Christmas and I get trampled by the over-enthusiastic middle-aged housewives trying to buy that last half gallon of eggnog. I can’t stand it.
@Nan
Oh, wow. Shopping with a baby sounds dreadful. I hope you get through it all right. =)
Yeah, actually, that’s a scientific fact. The cloud coverage when it snows actually keeps the temperatures warmer than on clear nights, kinda like a blanket.
Did it snow yet? I wish it would where I am at. I have seen snow before, but I was very little.. I would fully enjoy living where it is snowy. Hope you get it soon..
hmm i have never experienced snow.. it never snows here in the Philippines..
heheh i dont think i CAN holiday shop this year… im broke!!! goshhhh!
Thanks for the comment
Holiday shopping is the worse and what really annoys me is when christmas decorations are put up before halloween
Snow is beautiful… Though, where I live in California, it NEVER snows. In fact, its still sunny here… and its the beginning of December. O.o I adore snow, but I’m sure thats probably only because I don’t have to deal with it every year.
Holiday shopping - My family usually camps out for the day after Thanksgiving. We eat our turkey dinner, then go sit outside of a store all night. But, after that, I usually do the rest of my shopping during the last two days before Christmas.
We’re getting no snow here either, though we’ve been warned we may not get any until February! *cries*
I personally love the build up until Christmas… it’s fun buying for others, and I much prefer it to the downhillness afterwards. And I just love winter fullstop, and I was born during a blizard, so I’ve been a snow person since birth (not literally, that would be terrifying XD)
Holiday shopping? Ugh. It seems rather ridiculous when stores have christmas stuff out so soon. There’s no thanksgiving in australia (though what’s that turkey supposed to represent anyway) OR snow in cities, so the decorations and stuff are out so so soon. Pft.
I actually hate shopping anytime of the year! haha… I don’t like to shop except for chucks, v.g., or electronics. I’m a weird girl. hehe. I hate this season because everyone’s out in the stores buying everything like if it’s the last time they’ll be able to see the darn store. Maybe for some it’s true, right, but nonetheless, it’s annoying. I want it to snow here, too. Not rain because drivers in Vegas don’t know how to drive under the rain.
@Stephanie
Actually, no. Still no snow. Supposedly some slush accumulating tomorrow night, though, as well as snow showers through the day Thursday with some possible accumulation and a few flurries on Friday morning.
Haha, I sound like a weather lady.
@Phoebe
I’m broke after just getting the few things I really wanted for myself this year. I guess I’m making everyone stuff again, haha!
@Emma
Finally, someone who knows what I’m talking about with the Christmas decorations! It seems to me there’s two holidays before Christmas (I’ve checked and double-checked the calendar), and they deserve to be observed before we start throwing icicle lights and inflatable snowmen up.
I’m all for Christmas. As a Christian it’s great to remember my Lord and Savior’s birth, but it’s one holiday filled with sharing the love of Jesus with your family and praying. Not a three-month shopping extravaganza where the meaning of the holiday is completely lost.
@Sai
Yeah, actually dealing with snow makes a lot of people groan when we get it for once. I mean, digging your car out is a real b@#$#^. Especially if you get a foot of the white stuff around it, then the plows come by and pile about four feet up around it.
Haha, I usually don’t shop. I make things for people or just let my Mom do the shopping. She’s better at buying gifts for people than I am.
@Sophie
You have to wait ’till February?! Crazy. I’d be going nuts making snowballs out of the frost in our freezer.
To each their own opinion. But me…I’m sick of shopping, haha!
@Lav
Heh, if I lived in Australia, I’d be even more outraged at this ridiculousness.
@Musme
Whoo! Finally, someone who totally agrees with me! I can’t stand going to stores being pushed around by boisterous, over-excited middleaged women simply trying to buy one measly thing that I ran out of.
The only time I like shopping is online, but usually I already know everything I’m getting, like at Sephora or something.
Exactly! The store will still be there after December 25, why are these people going so batty?
Haha, some people just can’t drive. When it snows here, tons of people that move here get their first taste of snow driving and wreck.
