Summery Feelings
I must admit, summer is a truly wonderful, awe-inspiring, breathtaking time of year. It’s so pleasant and warm outside, sunny, and very picturesque.
Imagine this:
It’s around 3:00 post-meridium, you go outside with a tall glass of icy cold lemonade made fresh, still with a slice of lemon on the top, a cutesy little green umbrella, and a clear bendy straw. You waltz over to your front yard, where the grass was freshly cut and the clippings raked away. You pause for a moment, enjoying the scent of the garden, the light fragrance wafting up from a gentle breeze. Spreading a brightly-colored beach towel out on the grass, you sit, and cautiously set your lemonade on a small nearby table. You reach to your side, and grab your beach umbrella, sticking it firmly into the grass, and open it. Adjusting your sunglasses, you gaze at the gorgeous pastels and vivid hues of the flowers in the garden. A giant goofy-looking sunflower catches your eye. How absurdly yellow. You laugh at the sunflower for no apparent reason, then continue laughing at yourself just for laughing. Eventually, you calm down and kick your shoes off, watching them soar into the grass, to be found at some later time. You grab your lemonade from the table and sip, as condensation drips down the side of the glass. You set it down again, and lay back, gazing at the sky from under your umbrella. A deep indigo that fades into a lovely pastel baby blue is plastered over the sky, dotted with a few cotton ball clouds. You rest your arms behind your head. The breeze comes by softly, moving your hair. Sounds of birds chirping, the wind moving the trees, and the warm sun begin to make you drowsy. You try to stay awake, by sitting up for one last sip of frosty lemonade, but are unsuccessful. You drift off into a lazy afternoon nap.
Guess what I’m doing tomorrow. =D I absolutely adore summer.
The only thing I don’t like are the bugs. But my Venus flytrap, which I have nicknamed Chompy, has taken care of the ants in my room.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?

Ah, your scene of summer is very nice. However, I absolutely hate summer where I live. California get so hot in the summer, its not even funny. It is always too hot at nights to sleep, and you can’t get up and play on the computer because you are so sweaty that you stick to the chair. Its gross. Seriously. But, in other states, its probably much better.
My favorite thing to do in the summer? Run around in the sprinklers. Yes, I am 20 years old and still love to do that. Haha…
You painted that summer scene well… however, what can be imagined is never nearly as nice as what can truly be experienced. My summer involves long jogs in the evening when the sun is setting and the air becomes cool; laying in the sun and soaking up my UV fill + vitamin D; having late night bonfires with friends who I probably will never see again once the summer is over. Summer, for me, is a joining of renewal and amicable endings… it’s just a beautiful time of year.
But my favourite thing to do in the summer? There’s only one proper answer for that… sleeping in until the sun sneaking through the shades of your window wake you up.
I definitely love summer! I lovd reading what you wrote what you like to do in summer. I like doing the same, but I lie on sun loungers instead of towels because last time I lay on a towel in my garden I felt a tickle on my arm and I had a ginormous spider on it. I freaked out so much! I hate insects!
That’s the one thing I don’t like about summer, that there are so many bugs around like spiders, wasps, etc.
